Macclesfield Grüner Veltliner
Wine
Longview Macclesfield Grüner Veltliner draws from a site at Macclesfield in the Adelaide Hills, one of the first vineyards in Australia to plant Grüner Veltliner.
The grapes, grown on a sheer south facing slope, are handpicked, crushed and destemmed. The juice is chilled to 3°C and gently pressed.
The free run juice is fermented with a small addition of lees to build richness in the wine. After fermenting to dryness, the wine is bottled immediately to preserve freshness.
Bright yellow, Longview Macclesfield Grüner Veltliner is dry, spicy and textural with fresh acidity and a lingering finish. Cellaring potential is three years.
